Join me for an in-depth, 5-day workshop where you'll transform your own pre-approved photograph into a textile art collage. Together, we'll explore how interpretation, design decisions, and technique come together—not simply to copy an image, but to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art with impact, personality, and a style that's uniquely your own. In this hands-on, creativity-filled workshop, you'll discover how to select fabrics based on value rather than color, use contrast to create visual interest, discover why my choice of fusible is a game-changer, create backgrounds that enhance your subject, add details that bring your project to life, and create expressive eyes—everyone's favorite WOW moment! "EYEconic" – A Masterclass in Eye Creation: Using specially curated kits, I'll share my step-by-step process—from observing the smallest details to translating what you see onto Dupioni Silk using my collection of mixed-media supplies. One "EYEconic" kit is provided for each breakout session you attend (a $15 value each). Class is limited to 12 students, giving everyone plenty of personalized instruction. Catered lunches, afternoon snacks, and two dinners are included. I'll also share Threads of Influence: Artists I Admire and Lessons I've Learned— a presentation introducing you to what's happening in the world of fiber collage, along with an invitation to join my private Facebook group, Stacey's Fiber Café. Workshop Hours: Monday through Thursday doors open at 9:00 a.m. with class from 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday feature extended studio hours, with EYEconic breakout sessions from 5:30–7:30 p.m. Friday: We'll meet at Sue Spargo & Co at 9:00 a.m. for some shopping before enjoying an exclusive behind-the-scenes guided tour of their new shop, Sue's personal design studio, and hand-dye facilities. We'll return to the classroom at 10:30 a.m, concluding at 4:30 p.m. 60 days before class, I'll provide detailed information regarding how to select a photo, what to look for when choosing fabrics, and more. At this time you may submit your photo for approval. Most students complete the quilting at home, but if your project is on the simpler side, you may choose to bring your sewing machine. Class Cost: $650. Tuition includes specialty supplies. Registration: $200 non-refundable deposit reserves your space. Balance is due September 30, 2026. If you cancel within 30 days of class, you'll only receive a refund if I'm able to fill your spot.
